A few days ago (Friday) I mentioned a daily descent of stone steps towards a dark place. Yesterday I arrived at the bottom. Nearly three hundred miles away, in a nursing home by the banks of the River Ouse, my mother died. She must have been waiting for my arm. Together we took a step forward together towards the light.

That's a lovely thought, Rodger.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Love Elizabeth
I'm sorry about your mum Rodger x
ReplyDeleteMy condolences on the loss of your Mother. No matter how old *we* get, they are still our 'Mommy' when we hurt. I'm sorry you have the double hurt, of heart and body.
ReplyDeleteMany hugs to you, if you take them. (some folks are funny about hugs, especially from strange people ;) )
Very sorry to hear about your mother Rodger. Keep moving towards the light.

Hi Roger, there's never a good time to lose your mum. This is sad news.
ReplyDeleteI know she has been having a tough time since her stroke and her body let her down, but I'd like to think that wherever she is now, she's freed from the restrictions she had latterly. I'm sure she'll be around somewhere willing you strength. Big hug to you and Christine vjXX
I am sorry to hear about your mothers death. Perhaps you have accompanied her in spirit to the bottom step, and it has been a brave and risky journey. However, your mother’s image of you is of a strong son whose arm she could depend on. Now is the time for the ascent back up the stairs. Good luck.
